   Rivet has a weather resistant “o”ring ,under rivethead to help prevent water from seeping in at the point where surfaces are fastened together. The 3-way pattern of the rivet after it is fastened in place, provides excellent holding power.I’m planning on using them to fasten brackets for mounting a seat on my S.O.T.fishing kayak .

   I couldn’t be happier with these rivets. They are perfect for mounting. I used them in combination with 3M marine sealant. These rivets are the easiest I have ever used. The stems broke through flawlessly. Can’t imagine anything easier. I used 3/16 drill bit for the hole. Keep in mind that since these are so long, it could take a few squeezes on the rivet gun before the stem breaks free.

   Used to attach carrying handles to kayak – made a nice tight fit – time will tell if they endure repeated lifting – as an added precaution against water intrusion I used a sealant over the top of the rivet.

   Buy with confidence! these are similar design and quality to major big box store brand rivets. I have used them to mount multiple rings, hooks, and cords to my four kayaks. The black coating is totally unnecessary though because it is on the part that gets cut off or isn’t visible anyway.

   Bought these because they were longer than the last ones I bought. So far these go in correctly, break smoothly and the o rings don’t get deformed. I like using Lexal sealant with the rivets to give a little more assurance that there’s a watertight seal. I find it much better to work with then silicone.I haven’t used a lot of these and will update the review if there are any problems.

   I used these to attach handles to our kayaks. The grip is super strong! I trust these to hold much better than the screws that came with the handles.
