I haven’t really put it to the test but it looks good so far. I’m glad I got it because it holds the UCO storm proof ‘lifeboat’-type matches. I’m putting together a ‘to-go bag’ & I wanted to add some basic ‘prepper/suvival’ gear. I recommend this for 1 art of a fire-starter kit.

Strong containers, thick walls and a snug fit. I always suggest a cotton ball under the cap side with strike tips pointing up, cotton keeps tips from being damaged with transportation such. Extra strike plate included. Only things stronger that I’ve tried are metal, but these are plenty strong for regular use.

I have a smaller container that works for a small box of wooden matches.This is bigger and I put the water proof storm matches in this one. Zippo has an even bigger one with huge storm matches. This is a good size for my pack.The striker on outside will get wet. I took it off and put it inside with the spares. Easy to put the striker back and lite the matches.These are for emergencies in my bag. I have others for routine use.
