After getting my kayak, I figured out that the life vest I had would ride up no matter how tight I had it. Looked for some with mesh back that were designed for kayaks. Loved the way this looked. Found one in a store to try on. Decided to wait to see if I found something else I liked better. I went out kayaking again and my other life jacket drove me nuts. Went home and ordered this one. I love it. Itโs comfortable and not hot. The vent holes in front are nice and add style to it too. The straps are really adjustable so you can fit it to your liking. The zipper is a little tricky to get started but thatโs the only negative thing I have to say about it.

I have several friends who use the V-eight in the ocean and running rivers. When I started researching, you can find a good bit of hype about this PFD. Well folks, the hype is real. This is an outstanding and comfortable PFD. I bought one just before a 4 day, 3 night kayak camping adventure on the James River in Virginia. Didn’t even have to think about this PFD while paddling my touring style kayak for 4 days. I flipped my kayak once and floated wearing my Astral for a quarter mile before fining a spot I could stand up. I never got hot. The vents really worked for me. This PFD is rugged and I expect years of service. If I had one issue with this PFD would be the size of the 2 zippered pockets. I think they should be bigger. I carried my iPhone XS Max in a waterproof case in the pocket and it wouldn’t quite fit all the way so I could zip it. Make these pockets larger please. However, that is not a game changer for me at all.

Was looking for a jacket for paddleboarding. It is a bit bulky in the front and not sure it would be a good fit for a large breasted women. The zipper pocket fit the required whistle and small items. The back fits great when sitting in a kayak seat because the bulkiness of the flotation sits high enough that it avoids hitting the seat. The large amount of webbing makes it a good choice for florida. Good quality material. No problems paddling. I ordered small/medium, 5’3, 134# fits snug as it should.

Good vest especially if you have a high back seat. The back portion does tend to ride a bit high, though, which took time to get used to. Downside is the zipper. Found it difficult to get it to zip initially but that may get easier over time, I hope.

It is really light weight, but a little bulky feeling. I had to adjust it a few times to get it low enough so it wouldn’t interfere with kayaking.

I use this lifejacket every time I go out. ( I am not a strong swimmer) I have a sup with a kayak seat attachment on it. This lifejacket does not hinder my paddling in any way either standing to paddle or siting in the seat. The high back is great because it doesn’t get in the way at all. I don’t find that I get to hot while wearing it either and I live on the humid eastern shore of Maryland. This is a comfortable fit for the ladies. I am a 32 C, and ordered a S/M. I have to cinch it down all the way. The only annoying thing about it is that I can’t adjust it and then leave it. I have to uncinch the side when putting it on in order to get it to zip up, and then re cinch it. This is only a minor inconvenience. I would defiantly buy from this seller again! They added a personal touch to my order ๐

I bought this because I wanted to have the armpit area free of material while rowing and it suited this purpose well.Easy to adjust and the storage pockets are a nice added feature.

This is a comfortable paddling pfd for hot weather. Iโm a smaller person (5โ1โ 108lb) and the front is tough to zip because the foam paddling on each side collides as Iโm trying to pull up the zipper. It is softening up a bit with use so not a huge deal.
