   Sure, we have always had PFDs on the boat, and the kids always wear PFDs, but I do not enjoy a regular PFD, so I did not wear one. This Mustang PFD lets me wear one all the time in the boat, taking the grandkids fishing is such a joy to me, and If I fall in, I need to be there for them.Note: For this to be counted as a PFD on the boat, it must be worn. The PFD sitting in the boat is not counted.

   I was originally sent the wrong color, but Amazon got it taken care of ASAP!This is one of those fundamental kayak fishing upgrades. It separates the casual anglers from the semi-serious. When people ask me what my top 5 kayak fishing upgrades are, this is probably number one.With a regular PFD, you put it on and it takes a while for you to get “used” to it. You put this on and you instantly forget about it. It’s lightweight, slim, and it feels as natural as wearing a hat.I have taken it out on roughly 25 fishing trips so far in November so I think I can give it a pretty honest review!If you’re looking at buying a kayak fishing upgrade for someone, this might be it. 🙂

   Great product so far. However, it doesn’t have a ring to connect a boat ignition kill switch. Seems like an obvious thing to have on the vest.

   The best life vest is the one you never have to use. This one was purchased specifically for a fly-in fishing trip to northern Quebec. Summertime water temp is in the low 60’s and can quickly become incapacitating so good PFD’s are a must. This fits the bill nicely. There are plenty of vests available at lower prices, but the Mustang brand is high quality and very reliable. It certainly beats spending days wrapped in a bulky, clammy conventional foam vest.
