I’ve used these a few times now, strapping a surfboard to the rack on top of my car. They haven’t scratched the paint yet, and the first time I didn’t tie them down too well and they banged the top of my car all the way to the beach. My bad. On the way home, I secured the straps so they didn’t run close to the roof of the car, and they worked fine. They seem solidly constructed, work well, and look like they’ll last a long time. The buckle is challenging at first, you might have to use both thumbs until they are used a few times, but they hold the straps in place and the material is very smooth, so they won’t scratch anything.

This is a heavy duty tie down strap. The webbing is a lot thicker than others I’ve used and as some have said a little stiff. The clamp is stiff too but, I dont have to worry about it coming loose! Some people have complained that the webbing was hard to thread through the buckle, which is true. All I did was to cut the end at a 45 degree angle and now it’s super easy to do. I noticed that when they cut the webbing at the factory, there was a lot of melted webbing at the cut end, making it very hard to thread into the buckle. Just recut it with a heated knife and you’ll be set. The silicone buckle cover is a real plus. With this set, I never have to worry about our 2 boards flying off and we’ve driven through some high winds!Highly recommend this.

Thanks Stevie, we love your straps. More time surfing today and less time fighting with straps and worrying about them flying off.

Finally, straps that don’t come loose! I bought some cheaper straps and always worried about my board flying off my roof rack.

Great sturdy strap. Rubber covers the complete metal buckle so no scratch paint or fingers, buy um!

These are the best straps I’ve ever had. Better quality than Dakine or any other top brand. The straps are solid and made of quality materials that just feel like they’re going to get you to your mission no matter where it may be. And the silicone casing around the buckles makes sure you don’t ding your boards or your car. HIGHLY recommend over any other strap out there. Don’t let the brand names sway you. This is the best.
