Don –
I needed a ceiling mounted, secure storage rack that could hold two Hobie Lynx Kayaks. These kayaks are 40 lbs, 11′ by 3′ (in the center) and look more like stand boards. Originally, thought about a pulley system. However, after reading multiple reviews regarding different types kayak storage racks, decided on the StoreYourBoard 2 Kayak rack. So glad I did.Pros: Installation took about 40 minutes. very secure. Padded arms so no damage to the vessel over the winter.Cons: None for the design. The functionality is exactly as described. BUT, personally, being in my late 60’s, with a garage ceiling at 12 feet, even at 40 pounds, lifting the kayaks overhead, on a ladder is quite tricky and requires full concentration. I am still working on an easier system than for me to get them up and down. My wife has already complained that she will never be able to get them down. I agreed. Of course, these are personal issues and not the designers fault. I just thought I would mention it to others who are in the same boat. (pun intended).

Great product that makes good use of garage space. Finding the studs to insure a secure anchor point for the brackets is key. The rest of the assembly is simple. My 2 kayaks are under the weight max and the ceiling brakets are very stable.

Sturdy and was exactly what I was looking for. I put it above my garage door.

This absolutely does the job really well for two kayaks. So happy to have them out of the way yet, safe and dry in the garage. high quality, adjustable and just a great racking system. Install was easy but almost destroyed my arms. Found the studs, centered and all that but wish I had an automatic ratchet set.My only minor complaint is the gold rivets that you push in to secure the cross bars that hold up the kayaks. Two of them were a little wonky and I actually had to take them out, re install them and then put a popsicle stick to keep it raised so it works properly. I would recommend testing those out before installing so its not to late. after they were installed, it is nothing but a little elbow grease and muscle to get the kayaks up. I would suggest lifting kayak up on one end and then with a ladder, raise the kayak and keep the crossbar in your other hand. Once you have the kayak high enough get that crossbar on. Not real easy to be honest but I am sure others have better ideas.

The product was the best solution I could find for hanging 3 kayaks and ladders

Goes up easy and holds the kayaks

This thing hasn’t dropped a kayak on my vehicle yet. As long as that doesn’t change, I have no complaints.
