I bought this to save having to swim to get my kayak paddle in the event I dropped it. It matches my lime green kayak so I paid a dollar more than the black one-was worth a dollar to have it matching my kayak. It works well. When I put my paddle down for stability the leash hangs in the water but when wet it doesn’t spray or flail water from moving around when I start paddling again. It can stretch a bit longer due to the elastic in the green cloth when needed and retracts without issue. The Velcro seems to hold when wet and I like the security of knowing my paddle isn’t going to far when I stop to enjoy the scenery or take a picture. I use a lot of products from Seattle Sports and have been happy with the quality of their products.I recommend having a paddle leash, I really like this Green one, just take it off if your kayak surfing.

To be honest, I’m new to kayaking, so this is the one and only leash with which I have any experience. But I shop for quality products when I can, and this is certainly a great product. The clip end isn’t anything special, but is certainly a high quality plastic clip with metal latch which should last and not flimsy/cheap like many clip designs out there. It swivels, too.The loop end is a hook-and-loop strap which feeds through a buckle and fastens on itself. It’s nice and easy to peel apart when you’re ready to release your paddle. The elastic inside seems quality and has about an extra foot of extension when pulled, and the bright green exterior is really nice quality material. I can’t imagine anything I’d want more out of this kind of product, so I’m pleased. ๐

I use an extra long paddle and I’m extra tall…but I found that with this clipped to my seat, I’m stretching the cord on paddle strokes..It is what it is…. They described it accurately. But I find it a little snort for a 6’6″ guy with a 275cm paddle with a kayak that’s 43 inches wide. If you’re shorter, with a normal sized paddle, and a “regular” width kayak, you should be OK with this.I just wish it was 2-3 inches longer, unstretched.

I bought this to use as a fishing pole leash while kayaking. It isn’t super bulky and does its job well. I like how it stretches so when I go to cast it will stretch with me. The Velcro part is very easy to undo from the fishing pole but it does not just slide off. So now when I go over rapids and my kayak flips I don’t have to worry about losing my pole. Even with the floating cork poles I couldn’t find them in all of the rapids. This is a much better option and I would recommend it to anyone who plans to use it for this purpose.

I bought this because I paddle by myself.Years ago I was semi-capable completing wet exit lessons & the like but then I got hurt such that I seldom paddle and my skill level has diminished. So the thing that – while unlikely – could get me in the most trouble is losing my paddle into the water. If there is a wind or current that can be very troublesome. This protects against that risk. Now if you stop for a drink, photo, wipe the sunscreen out of your eye & lay the paddle across your lap – no worries. It is simple, convenient and very easy to take with you with such a small footprint. For a few dollars I think it is a great investment

At first it seemed like this was too short for a kayak paddle. I attached it to my vest and never noticed it the rest of the day. Some people do not like the velcro type leashes, I havent had any problems. Maybe it will only last 5 years instead of 10.

I bought a clip on paddle holder but I found when I would accidentally bump it the paddle would fall into the water. I thought Iโd try the leash and that solve the problem. I bought another leash as a gift since a friend just bought a Pakayak.

We used this for the river along with the paddles and it worked like a charm! Held onto the paddle with no issues and stretches out far. Highly recommend!!
