Great case. Very sturdy build and high quality workmanship while being relatively lightweight. The latches close secure and the handle is tight enough so that it doesn’t flop around. I use it as a rack case on my motorcycle which is a dual sport (and used as one) so it sees some rough roads. I used 4 bolts through the bottom of the box to attach it to the rack and it has held up great so far. The seal doesn’t seem like it would allow any water to intrude but the bike hasn’t been ridden in heavy rain so I can’t be certain. I carry two small padlocks to lock the case if I leave the bike with any valuables in the case. If you wanted to go to the next level it is hundreds of dollars and for me soft luggage doesn’t serve the purpose well for commuting which I also do. It’s nice to be able to bring home some 22oz bottles of beer on the way home from work. All in all I would say it’s the best value in a case this size, which for me is perfect for the purpose I intended (a permanent, reasonably sized hard luggage/lock box for my motorcycle which can be augmented with soft luggage for camping).

The Seahorse SE540 Protective Case without Foam actually came with foam (pick and pluck) much to my surprise and it was very welcomed. I have extensive experience with another highly popular brand of nylon plastic waterproof case of all sizes and dimensions used in some of the toughest environments and often severely overloaded but in my opinion for the money the Seahorse is as good as that other product. Plastic thickness and density is well engineered and thicker in those susceptible areas like lid centers, sidewalls, corners, etc. Hinges and latches are all very well made and this particular model has a recessed twist lock mechanism which assures the latches cannot come undone inadvertently. Full perimeter rubber/silicon gasket assures it’s waterproof and the handle is hinged with strength and folds completely flat against the case in the down position. A great box for the price!

I needed a watertight container to hold fish food for my pond area. My other container leaked and, therefore, wasted the pellets due to mold. This is just the right size as I can keep enough food in it for at least two weeks thereby eliminating extra trips to the barn for refills. Pond is a distance from barn. Am very happy with the case. It was a tad expensive but believe, in the long run, worth its cost.

The old trunk on my motorcycle finally gave up the ghost — okay, maybe me driving so fast on those Jeep trails, whipping the box around may have contributed to it’s destruction. So, I searched high and low around for this style box, and the Seahorse was a perfect fit. Dimensions, strength, waterproof, Made in USA, and, of course, a great price. Of course, I’ve voided the warranty by drilling mounting holes into the bottom…no problem for me, as at this price, it’s fine by me. It’s now mounted on the tail rack of my KLR650, with a two-way ham radio installed inside and a 2m/70cm antenna mounted on top. It still has room for my emergency supplies, tool kit, emergency food, and some spare parts. And the latches/locks work perfectly. I’m VERY happy with the Seahorse product. I’ve whipped the bike around quite a bit on Jeep trails and there is absolutely no sign of the case having problems.

I have about 5 of these boxes in various sizes. They are great for ATV riding. Not a one of the boxes has ever leaked. Extremely durable. This size held tools, etc. in case we had an issue on the trail. Other sizes had held camera equipment. We have been in some harsh weather including downpours where you could hardly see in front of the buggy. Stuff inside boxes completely dry!!

Good deal for a well made sealed box. Not big enough for motorcycle helmet, but great storage.
