The build quality of this case appears to be up-to-par with Pelican as far as I can tell. I have a smaller Pelican 1120 case and they seem to be of similar quality. The foam feels a tad firmer and a little more difficult to pick and pluck, but not so much so that I really cared. As you can see in the photo, I was able to get a DSLR body (Canon T3i), 18-55mm lens, 24mm lens, extra battery, and a travel battery charger in this case (and close it without crushing anything). With the 24mm lens mounted, the case would still close but was really REALLY snug so I decided to unmount the lens. Yes, I could have gotten a slightly bigger case and kept the lens mounted, but my purpose in getting this was to have a smallish box that I could toss into a backpack or throw in the car or bring on a plane and be as compact as possible while holding all of the essentials… and more importantly, even a SLIGHTLY bigger case (even the Amazon version) would have cost me about 50 to 100 percent more depending on the selection. Overall, I’m quite happy with the purchase and would do it again.

This has stood up to getting kicked around the back hatch of my car, and has been just perfect for storing a large lithium jumper pack for jump starting vehicles. I bought it over a year ago, and it looks and functions just like the day I bought it and modded it for my items. The battery has enough capacity and chemical potential to do serious damage that I only feel safe carrying it around inside a fire bag inside a relatively air tight case. The pick and pull foam let me perfectly match the size of the bag and battery, along with the charging cable, and put in a nice storage slot for the manual. The air release valve under one latch is very handy, since I’ve had to crack the case open to get to the battery on days where the temperature dropped enough to make a vacuum seal. The price is low for what you get, and I would definitely use another box like this for a similar device. I’m going to get another one for packing a camera and other sensitive and easily crushed electronics when the pandemic is over and we can travel again.

I was surprised by how similar the quality of the exterior was compared to brands like pelican, I was even more impressed by how much nicer the foam insert is. The pelican foam is a lot less dense and is easily damaged by anything sticky or with sharp edges. The seahorse foam was harder to tear apart to create the custom compartments I needed but using an x-acto knife I was able to easily remove the perforated cubes. It is a really nice quality product that is made in the USA and it shows.

A sturdy yet lightweight case, I feel more than confident in it’s ability to keep my vintage camera (highly expensive to repair) safe, no problem. A very good option for it’s price point.

After trying other solutions, I found these Seahorse boxes. They are made almost indestructible, smell & waterproof. The foam is easy to work with to hold whatever you want to use it for. Perfect.

The dislike not sure of time well tell. I put a 12 V 24 AH battery in this case to put in the kayak to keep water out it looks like itβll work great

I have several Seahorse cases which I like much better than Pelican cases. The corners are not as rounded making it more efficient to pack and the plastic material is smoother making cleanup easier. The latches are also superior and much easier to open (good for me anyway- I’ve never had one pop open accidentally). I received the SE300 case recently and the o-ring seal in the lid was missing. I contacted customer service (got the number from the Seahorse website) and my call was answered immediately by a person! She got my name and address and sent out the o-ring without any hassle or me having to prove that I had purchased the case. I am very impressed with their friendly and efficient customer service and will certainly be a repeat customer knowing that I will be taken care of!

Just received it and very happy with purchase. Iβm going to be using this as a battery box for my inflatable dingy to house an 18ah 12 volt lithium battery. I will update with pictures and update in the future if I have any issues with this.
