   These downrigger ball holders were just the ticket for our boat. After using a folded towel to keep them from banging the boat we discovered these little gems. We use a set on our aluminum small boat which we just set on the seats by the downriggers….not screwed down to the boat. Our larger boat we attached them to the gunnel. Another great invention!

   I use these on a small (15′) aluminum boat. In my case, I use only 6 lb weights. These hold my 6 lb weights well and will definitely hold a variety of sizes. I have them mounted near the downriggers so I can use them to hold the weight while setting up the line release. These are a very nice way to secure your downrigger weights while moving around on the water. I added straps with velcro to secure the weights while trailering, which is an added convenience. If you want to avoid having your downrigger weights rolling around all over the place, the Weight Mate is a great solution.

   I mounted four of these to a 12 inch X 24 inch, 1 inch thick piece of HDPE and it keeps my downrigger weights safe and in place.

   These are more rugged than I thought they would be. I didn’t really have much faith with them being just plastic, but I have hit them pretty hard with my 12lb downrigger balls and have sustained no damage. They hold the ball well during my transits on the water and when I am towing my boat with my truck. These are worth the money to not have your downrigger ball bouncing around your boat or having to wait until you are at your fishing spot before you get your downriggers set up.

   Have 2 downriggers on my boat and two of these to keep my weights from rolling around when trailering my boat or out in rough water. They hold the weight securely!

   Scotty Lead Weight Holder mounts easily. Holds well. Durable and attractive. Good help on any fishing boat.
