I love this PFD! Great range of movement while kayaking with a high back. I live in FL and wanted a minimalist design for the hot summers. It is very comfortable and adjustable even for women that are well endowed. The 2 pockets (one mesh with elastic top and one zippered) are very spacious (easily hold keys and a cell phone in a small waterproof bag). I don’t mind the over the head with side zip design. I can’t say I would want to try to put it on in the water (after I have flipped), but it is comfortable and light enough that I don’t mind wearing it whenever I am on the water. I wish the shoulder straps were adjustable, but it fits perfect without it. FYI the color really is mango and not as yellow as the picture looks. Highly recommended!!!

I bought two Stohlquist Rockers for my wife and myself. We rafted the 2-3 class Trinity River in a two man raft in 90+ degree weather. Wearing it didn’t bother me at all. There was quite a bit of paddling on flat spots and it didn’t chafe. I floated a section and my wife easily pulled me up into the raft with the shoulder straps. The reflective straps are a good detail. I fell out on Hell’s Hole and popped to the surface and swam ashore with ease. The next day we took out our whitewater canoe. We dumped it once and swam to safety with no problem. Again I failed Hell’s Hole but popped to the surface without incident. A nice bonus was the mesh pocket in front that fit my waterproof camera perfectly.

I like this vest and won’t buy another until I wear it out. I like the front pocket, and how free it is in the arms front to back. BUT, the only thing I that bothers me is how wide the shoulder straps are at the very top of your shoulders. When you’re in a roll or if you tend to paddle with your arms high, they rub between your neck and deltoid. It’s a bit aggravating but not a deal breaker yet. I hope they change the design on this one. I might add that I am a small to medium built woman. It might fit and wear differently on another physical build.

Works great for my 12 yo son who is tall by slender. Most of the chest size charts showed he needed a PFD for a second grader. This did the job and my fears of it being too lose we abated once he tired it on. Also, this is the one you want for junior sailors who need to climb back into a small sailboat after righting it on a cap size. No buckles to get in their way that could get caught on the rim of the boat.

I use this PFD for Laser sailing. It is perfect. the design serves to prevent the jacket from grabbing the boom during tacking. it fits well and has a multitude of adjustments. The pocket is large enough to hold a whistle and spear line and a knife. this jacket has features that serve to keep it from riding up. I like this jacket. Remember this is a PFD and it is also a nice fit that makes it easy to sail a dinghy!I really like this PFD. I have purchased several PFD’s in the last year and finally am very happy with this PFD!

The flotation is articulated, so it bends fairly easily. Pockets and attachment points are well thought out. It is cut away from your arms, allowing free movement. Sizing is a drawback. With a 44″ chest, I should fall well within the L/XL size, but can just barely get it zipped over a mere synthetic t-shirt. Forget about with a neoprene top. The XXL just suffices. On other point is that the shoulder straps do not adjust. Vertical positioning is accomplished with two other straps and that works pretty well. But, if someone doesn’t consult resources that show how to adjust the PFD, they’ll miss this.

i realky love this vest. Its comfortable to wear while paddling and fishing. Doesn’t ride up your neck like other styles. I put my phone in the front center mesh pocket while in my yak. It sits nice and snug in there. There is also a nice zippered pocket for keys and such. Great PFD. Im really glad i got over the sticker shock and purchased it

only my second pfd purchase, but I considered a lot before buying this one. obviously, the plasticin the shoulder straps were a huge selling point to aid in long shoulder-carries. I like that I can mount my knife down low and out of the way as well. plus, there’s a pocket perfectly shaped for a safety beverage. my only complaint is the weak zipper, it busted apart in the first 8 months of use.
