This bad boy came in handy. I was on 95 during snow storm and everyone was stopped. It was late when I stopped for food and only had the choice of taco bell or Wendy’s. I had eaten Wendy’s twice already that day so I decided to get Taco Bell. The first of several bad decisions that evening. I ordered a rather large meal because I was going to be driving all night and it was snowing. So I get back on the highway and it really starts to come down. I decide to press on and not even stop to eat so I can get as far as I can before I gotta stop. I eat everything, even ate all the sauce. I was still hungry!! I soon forgot about my hunger and focused on the ever growing blizzard around me. 60 minutes later, everyone is driving single line and 10 MPH. The exits got farther and farther apart. It’s now 3AM and were almost at a stand still. That’s when thunder struck. It came on so suddenly that I broke out in a sweat almost instantly. There was a huge dump coming and nothing was gonna stop it. I start calculating and estimating the time to the next exit. GPS unit said 54 miles!!!???. To top it off, I noticed a state trooper was behind me as he was using his emergency lights for visibility. Also because he was on the CB and was coming in crystal clear. This posed a problem for my only available option of pulling over and sitting on the guard rail to expel the monster brewing within my colon.I really start to panic now and farts are bubbling betwixt my clenched cheeks and thighs. Only other option was to prepare for the inevitable. The taco bell bag was soaked with grease and could barely retain its structure as is. No go there. I had nothing else within reach. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed my pelican case. I started remembering a story from an old Woodsman I met at a truck stop. He was hiking the Appalachian trail and would stash food in these cases so bears would not smell it. Living in a cabin in the mountains, I have bear issues, and take great care to not leave food outside and properly store my garbage. Well, I was gonna put his claim to the test.I grabbed the case, removed the contents and scooted that bad boy in position. With amazing accuracy and patience, I refilled the Pelican case. Holding position, I slid the case back out and carefully snapped the lid shut. Used a couple taco bell napkins to clean up and just sat there, resting my leg muscles from their straining squat of 300 pound man for what seemed like an eternity. The odor was horrific but surprisingly short. I opened the window and within a minute or so, the smell left as quickly as it came. The seal really works!! I was stuck on the road for another 3 hours before I made the next exit. I can’t imagine how unbearable and miserable it would have been without this Pelican case. Oh yeah, and sure enough, as I went onto the exit ramp, the State Trooper passed by. An angel was on my shoulders that evening. You always hear about these types of things happening to other people and you just think, well thank god it wasn’t me. Or, what are the odds?? Well, I found out, I feel like I am lucky to be alive. Who knows what could have happened? I cringe to relive this moment, but feel it is a story that might help another person some day.I must say, I will never leave home without one of these cases again for as long as I live. I have one in every vehicle I own.THANK YOU!!!

I wanted a place to store a GoPro Hero 7 and protect it from the elements until I deploy it. Fits great along with a waterproof camera housing making this a grab and go solution. I didn’t notice in the write-up that the yellow internal material is soft. This was a welcome surprise. If you remove the yellow material the case is otherwise completely translucent clear polycarbonate (I presume that’s what it is anyway). The clear cover looks wimpy in photos but it is in fact quite substantial and is as thick as the rest of the product.. The addition of the little carabiner is a nice touch. If you don’t like it on the case reuse it elsewhere. Another feature I didn’t notice in photos is that there is a place for a MOLLE type strap on each side of the case. This would allow you to attach it to a pack or something and also allow you to wrap a cord around it if you were twitchy about relying on just the single latch to prevent an unintentional opening. Overall a well built and well engineered product. Nice job Pelican.

A friend gave me a 1040 as a gift, and my husband a 1050 and the 1050 is worth the extra cost – fits a couple of phones and other items AND the carabiner keeps in attached safely to your boat or board. Totally waterproof, sturdy, and indestructible! Now I get these for friends who admire ours when we are out boating!

Love pelican always. I use this one to put hard drives and it can perfectly fit two LaCie rugged C inside. Really trust it!

I got this to store and travel with my Sony A6000. The size down was too small, so I ordered this one.Its the perfect size with foam without being oversized (and therefore taking up dead space), and super durable.

I bought this box to transport a Jetson TX2 + carrier board on a trip. Ideal for the purpose. Fits very snugly inside it. Small and robust. Very useful for carrying call electronic cards.
