This is the type of life jacket that was recommended to us for kayaking. I have a boating type jacket but it uncomfortable because of the backing. This jacket has a higher pad on the back and once it’s adjusted, all I have to do is zip up. It is warm to wear while paddling on a warm day thus make me unzip it part way. Wife doesn’t like that and always tells me to tighten up. I found it only takes me a couple seconds to pull the shoulder straps and zip up. I like this jacket very much but it makes me look pregnant. Found out there’s a women size jacket that is design for women , so she also has one and like it very much.

This is a great looking, easy to wear PFD. I’ve worn it on several rafting trips and it doesn’t lose its snug fit or feel uncomfortable after long periods of time. Floats well for me at 5’11” 190lbs and has a nice easy to use zipper for quick take off.My only complaints are that there are no hooks to attach a carabiner to (for chapstick/sunblock/whistle/etc) and that the pockets are very slim and tight and not easily accessible. Also its difficult to snap the buttons when there are items in the pockets because of how tight they are.Other than that, this is a solid vest for a great price compared to others out there.Note – The color is fairly accurate but I would say its just slightly more green than grey.

I wear this for winter paddling in a kanu. The arm cutouts are OK, but can pinch a little in the pits depending on what I am wearing underneath. I find that I can wear a little less when I wear this because it does insulate. Lots of adjustments to get the fit right, I am a little big through the middle and the straps make it easy to keep the PFD snug without being too tight. Pockets are roomy and easy to use with thick neoprene gloves on. I wear this in a 6 man kanu and have no problems. When worn in a 1 man outrigger the front does press up on my knees a little because my legs are closer to my chest, but that is probably a problem with any PFD in an OC-1.

I bought this to use for kayaking because it has the high cut back to clear the kayak seat. Completely eliminates the problem of my former jacket riding up when I am seated, and it’s very comfortable. Lots of strap adjustments to get a perfect fit. My wife got the more expensive version of this in the ladies style, which has better pockets. If I were doing it again, I’d spend a few extra bucks and go with the better model to better hold my iPhone Plus. If you don’t care about larger pockets, this thing is about as perfect as they get.

I have only worn it twice for kayaking but so far it is great. Doesnt rub against the seat and i like the pockets on the front. I put my cell phone in a ziplock and slip it into ine of them. I got the large/xL size and it fits great. I am 6’1″ and about 215 with a 44″ chest and 34″ waist if that helps anyone with sizing. It is a little more green in person than the steel bluish/grey color in the product pics, but it looks good. Havent been in the water with it yet so not sure how it floats but im guessing it will be fine.

Comfortable, reliable, durable.I got dumped out of my kayak and ended up swimming a quarter mile of class 3 rapids… Not fun, but made it out alive. The jacket stayed on, and for the most part I kept my head above water. Definitely would have struggled without it.Other than that, it’s a comfortable jacket. I paddled somewhere around 100 miles this summer and had no problems with it.Don’t trust the pockets to hold anything valuable, though.

i bought this jacket for the low profile back section and flexibility. Sailing a Sunfish requires you to duck really low under the boom when tacking or jibing. A conventional life jacket with a high back section snags on the boom, frequently resulting in a capsize. This jacket has a much lower profile in back. Construction is good quality, with everything adjustable. The minimal back section clears the seat in my kayak. Recommended.

These were easy to wear and move in, lightweight as well. I purchased two.
