The wife and I finally upgraded from our bulky PFD’s to these wonderfully light and compact Automatic PFD’s. We fish on a Ranger Pro Tournament Bass boat and are usually on the water a minimum of 4 hours. During that time you would never know you were wearing this PFD. Even on those scorching hot days it was a none issue. I actually wear this all the time now, as opposed to leaving my old one draped over the chair. I am a big guy, size 50 sport coat, and this fits like a glove. My wife, who is small in stature, has a perfect fit as well so the adjustments are infinite to fit a wide variety of figures. I have even been out with my storm suit on and this vest was easily adjustable to fit over my suit. It must be worn over the most outer layer of clothing. It can be inflated one of 3 ways: By falling into more than 4″ of water, automatic inflate; by pulling the rip cord; and there is a manual inflation tube as well. Both vests came with a rescue whistle attached. There is a small zippered pocket for essentials onthe lower left exterior part of the vest. Yes, it is a little more expensive than your regular PFD’s, but it is your life at stake and by not wearing a PFD could be a life changing experience. You will not even notice this is on you…but if you need it…it does the job with no thought from the user. Highly, highly recommend this for anyone wanting the best protection while on the water.

Fits nice and not to hot to where, even on hot days. Haven’t fallen in the water yet and don’t plan too, but if you fish or boat alone you really should be wearing one. For $200 it may save your life. The HIT technology is the best on the market as this jacket needs to go 4″ underwater to activate.

The saying “you get what you pay for” applies for this PFD. I compared them to others and these are far superior to what I witnessed out there. Easy to adjust, easy to put on, and easy on weight. Mind you, to replace the inflation parts after inflation in the water, you will have to cough up about 70 bucks for a replacement unit because of how it’s designed. And that’s about what inferior PDFs go for. BUT the real question is whether safety is important to you. If it is, and you want comfort, this is the one. (not tested in water)

Excellent quality and peace of mind by having it on board. Its overpriced and too expensive but it’s needed so what are you going to do. It’s the nicest of all of them and comfortable so I would buy it again.

I’ve worn a lot of life vests over the years and this one is very comfortable and unobtrusive. It’s relatively light in weight. I fish lakes and rivers on the shores, banks, and boats. The vests will only inflate if submerged 4 inches or more for a matter of seconds I’m told. I have yet to have it inflate from a wayward splash or because it’s raining like some other brands. That piece of mind alone is worth the price in my opinion.
