I think the previous reviews are right on. I will just pass along a couple of other things I learned.First, I mounted a Garmin Striker Vivid 4CV. Fits perfectly. Now, you do not need to remove the 4 phillips screws as I did. I was trying to understand how the third screw would be secured between the Garmin tilt/swivel mount and the yakattack adapter. The nut is already inside and is in a hex hole that retains the nut and prevents it from spinning. Just screw that one in and add the provided nuts to the other two as they are accessible from the back.Second, the track mount on the bottom unsnaps from the unit. If you look at the bottom, you will see a couple of track guides molded in. Nice feature to add strength and stability.OK, more than a couple of points. I do not know what kind of plastic this is, but I have had it before. It looks and feels like the composite material high quality photographic lenses such as Nikon are made from. Whatever it is called, I expect it to be quite durable.The swivel joints are substantive. The wing nuts are large and easy to operate even with my big hands. This is my first yakattack product and I am positively impressed. I will look first at yakattack for yak accessories.

As the description and reviews noted the Garmin 73sv will require the rectangular version of this product. What I did not see mentioned is the 73sv base plate will not directly mount on the rectangular base without modifying the Garmin baseplate. The diameter of the cutout in the Garmin baseplate is too small and will require drilling or shaving to make it larger. Not a hard thing to do but it’s good to know ahead of purchase.

It was an easy connection to the base that comes with the Garmin4cv. While the FF unit is not heavy, the over all sturdiness of the assembled base, arm, and Garmin feels rugged while remaining easily adjustable.

I bought this because I have a Humminbird Helix 7 but the holes on the gimbal mount and the yakattack mount did not line up. I had to drill 4 new holes in my gimbal mount and now it’s perfect.
