   I bought these pliers for chain maille work. I own a few other Knipex products and I feel that one of the two pliers I received were not quite up to what I have come to expect from Knipex, in a few small ways.The tip of one of the pliers had a small burr / imperfection that I could probably remove with some sandpaper if I needed to do so. The springs that open the pliers weren’t properly lined up, but were easily bent into place. The jaws of the pliers match up well, but not perfectly.All of that said, they are perfectly serviceable and I’m unwilling to go through the hassle of seeing if I can get them replaced.The other pair of pliers seems much better in terms of build quality.These pliers are great for what I use them for, which is manipulating 18ga to 20ga steel / aluminum wire.

   I make micro-chainmaille and finding comfortable pliers I thought was next to impossible. After using these almost daily for a month, I’m in Love. I can work for hours without hand strain. I mostly work with 22 5/64 and 1/8 and up to 18 1/4.

   These were my everyday LOVE them pliers. Until they snapped in half. I thought ok, well must not know my own strength. ?? then my other pair (bought one from knifed website and one from amazon) snapped less than 60 days later. So now I am on the hunt for a replacement brand. ?

   Why would I pay this much for a small tool? Not only are these machined perfectly but if you compare the metal content (what they are made of) you will see why the German tools are significantly superior to the Chinese ones.

I HAVE SOME OF THEM, WHICH ARE OVER 30 YEARS OLD AND STILL LOOKING AND FUNCTIONING LIKE BRAND NEW ONES! PRICEY ?, YES BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR INDEED. YOU WANT LONG LASTING GOOD LOOKING AND FUNCTIONING TOOL THEN BUY KNIPEX, THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA!!! (BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE!!)I HIGHLY RECOMEND ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS, BECAUSE THEY STAY BEHIND QUALITY, THEY HAVE BEEN MADE.
