I bought a Stohlquist a couple years ago, for its design, fit and build. After shopping Dick’s, Sportsman’s, and Big 5, my wife could not find a canoeing vest that was half as nice as the Stohlquist. It came quickly, was under $100 and fits her perfectly. The front chest zipper is perfectly placed for a phone, and the rounded vest shape leaves great freedom of movement. Very comfortable and great quality. Thumbs up ?

Other then the fact I order two of the same exact ones just different sizes I got this one and I love it, but unfortunately my husband was send some off version that will not work on white water. So now I have one but Amazon has not corrected their mistake….

fits fine.like the zippered pocket a bunch.wish it had a neoprene pocket on the inside of front for hand warming. would be perfect then.

A very solid PFD for the money. This vest is designed in a way that some people might experience discomfort as the bottom strap goes beneath the ribs. The front pocket is large and drains fast. There is a loop for attaching keys or a whistle inside the pocket, a very welcome feature

This fits snug and has a nice pocket to put your waterproof phone and keys in. The only drawback for me is zipping the side zipper. That is the only place to secure the vest. I recently tried using the buckle under the zipper first and it helped slightly. One other not is this zipper is on the right side and may be more difficult for lefties. We have two in our family.

When it comes to safety equipment, I value proven brands and product quality over cost, and this life vest is a great example of that. Internet research (not a top 10 list, ignore those) turned up that Stohlquist and this particular Edge life jacket are used by white water guides, field proven and chosen, caught my eye!Put it to the test (unintentionally) while standup paddleboarding in the ocean. It’s comfortable on, the design doesn’t restrict your torso – had life jackets for jet skiing in the ocean that worked great, but were too big for kayaking or paddleboarding. This design works well when you need to move and it doesn’t get in the way. When I took a spill in the ocean, I honestly never thought about the vest – which is great! I scampered back onto the SUP without any issues, jacket never got in the way, yet it popped me right up to the surface. Best thing I can say is that the jacket did it’s job and I never had to think or worry about it!Didn’t think I would need or use it – there’s a pocket right on the chest that is perfect for my cell phone and keys that I store in a drybag. Made it convenient to grab the phone for some quick photos (don’t recommend – get a waterproof camera instead for peace of mind). Highly recommend for SUPs and kayaks.

Worth the money.

I bought the PFD because dragonboat requires one for our practices and races. It’s easy to use, sturdy, and has a pocket at the front big enough to fit an iphone 13 and some IDs/credit cards!
