I like the fact that I no longer have to buy pyro flares and worry about the expiration dates. This thing is easy to use and is Coast Guard approved as a substitute to flares. This appears to works exactly as advertised. (I hope I never have to actually use it!) I plan on changing the batteries every year to ensure this thing is operational in case of emergency..

I have never liked having to replace the hand held flares every three years. This light costs about twice as much, but in the long run I think it will be a wise decision. I can’t rate the durability yet, but it is well made so I figure it will last. Hopefully, I will never need it.

This must have been a returned item. No plastic bag , and the tab on the box was ripped off. It works though. For 75 bucks itβs basically a waterproof strobe flashing light. But I guess youβre payingfor the U.S.C.G rating. Guess itβs better than buying flares every couple of years.

I have not used this and hopefully never will. Just seems like the smart choice to have on board and it meets the Coast Guard requirements. Now I will not have to replace my flare kit every 3 years. Comes with a daytime signal flag.

No more scary flares. NICE
Chief2756 –
No more keeping up with flare expiration dates.

Cheaper than flares

These are USCG approved, still a good idea to keep a couple standard flares on the boat.
