Better made than the less expensive PFD’s and fit snugger with the two belts. The reflective stripes should be on ALL PFD’s but are standard on these Kent vests. When sailing deep water far from a shoreline, EVERYONE aboard should be wearing a PFD. Plenty of time for tanning at anchor. When poo happens it happens fast! PFD’s below in a locker or box won’t save a soul. They’re purpose is to keep you alive, not fashionable. Clip-on whistles and light sources you can purchase separately and inexpensively.

I returned the life jacket because for my teens this was more than we needed and too bulky. However, if we do get a boat, we will buy these from the Mad Dog amazon store. The quality is impressive. Also, the owner Chris helped us with the return and was so prompt with communication and each step we had to go through.

This product seems well designed for its use, which is for safety in case your boat capsizes in the open ocean. I hope to only have to wear it while I am a motor boat passenger, going between islands in the Gulf of California, and never to have to actually use it in the water though. It is bulky but for safety reasons I can put up with that.If you want a water-activated light you would have to get on separately and add it on. Still, I think this is a good product for the price, and for the use that we need it for.

Actually never tried on. Just on boat to meet Coast Guard requirements. They look like most similar life vests

Don’t skimp out on a life jacket.

Does exactly what it should. Wouldn’t trust my kids in anything else

Bought this for my mom who can’t swim. It is big enough to fit her at 6ft 220 lbs. Everything looks well stitched. I like the reflective tape that is sown on, a whistle with its own tuck away spot and the head lift if she becomes unconscious. With all the floods lately, I want her to be safe.
