Granted, this is a super expensive life vest. But that’s the only negative about it. My daughter is 17 months old, LOVES the water, and is fitting into 9 month clothes. So basically, I have a kid who’s very mobile, has no sense of danger, loves to splash, and is too small for a Puddle Jumper. Awesome combination. This life vest gives her all the mobility she needs. It’s not perfect, she had a small adjustment period when she’d try to sit in it and just topple over. But she learned how to counterbalance herself. She wore it to the beach, lake, and swimming in Papa’s pool and only got pissed when she fell in and floated on her back (looking up at the sun). She could play with her toys, sit and stand easily, and run around with no problems. Whenever she was in the water with someone it was easy to hold her upright so she could still “swim”. So yeah, a little pricey, but the peace of mind that comes with it is worth every penny.

Best baby life jacket. Baby has mobility and is safe. May not be quite as buoyant as the US Coast Guard PFD but still a life jacket that baby will wear without crying the whole time and can nurse in. So relaxed in it that our baby falls asleep in it almost every boat ride, and the handy mesh pockets in the front are perfect for storing a passy. Very expensive but worth baby’s comfort and safety. Our baby wore it through the first 12 months and bc he was so used to wearing it, when he graduated to the US pfd, he happily wears it now no problem. If you’re going to be boating a lot and your baby is miserable in the typical PFD, I’d definitely consider investing in safety and comfort.

If you spend a lot of time around the water, the investment may be worth it. I bought this at the beginning of the summer for my then 2 month old. (I think she was around 12 lbs) We have used it handful of times over the last few months, in pools, out boating and canoeing, and even in the creek. She definitely prefers to be in the water when she has to use it, but by far the best life jacket I’ve used for a baby. It’s thinner than others and I feel like the double collar really cradles her head well. She still can’t sit up in it, but we recline her on some towels in the canoe! Lol. I still prefer to be within arms reach, but she is 5 months now and 16lbs and I’m confident she could turn face up by herself if she needed to…she can maneuver in it quite well (unlike others I’ve tried.)

We are boat owners who have our kids on the boat just about every weekend. Without a doubt, this is the best life jacket for infants and toddlers on the market (and throughout the years, I tried man!). It doesn’t move up and scrunch their little faces, so it seems to be very comfortable. It teaches them to get comfortable floating on their backs. I also used it in the pool when I had multiple small kids to watch and swim with. If the baby had this on, I knew I’d be able to manage having all the kids in the water safely. I give this to every new mom, and it’s always appreciated and loved.

I love how this floats my LO, and it is nice that it doesn’t squish his face. I didn’t even worry about him rolling as much as I did with a regular one. (It has just been tried in the tub so far) Some design changes would be to make it neoprene so it’s softer. It did rub his leg and leave a red spot, but he only had on a swim diaper and not swim shorts, so for a boy that my help it. It would also be nice if it had a buckle on the side of getting the baby in and out of.

Our granddaughter had a very expensive zip up life vest that was safety rated for the boat, but she was miserable in it. She was immobile and it road up so far on her little cheeks when zipped. She was unable to crawl and wanted no part of it. The way this vest works it does not ride up on their face and allows for more movement while still being very safe and secure. We were no willing to sacrifice safety for comfort and this vest was the perfect answer.

Living in southwest Florida I had my little one on the boat by 3 months. Her first two life jackets were a nightmare. She did nothing but scream which caused for a miserable boat ride. I stumbled across this and decided that even though it wasn’t USCG approved I would try it. It truly has been the best purchase I have ever made on Amazon. She went from having a miserable time on the boat to a smiling happy baby. Now at 7 months she has no problem wearing it and I feel completely confident that is will preform the way a USCG approved life jack will in the case of an emergency.

It is expensive compared to lots of other options, but the quality is top notch. I see this lasting for all our future children too. Our daughter tried other life jackets and she had little mobility, was uncomfortable….in this salus jacket, she is happy in it, can run and play in it, can move super easily. It’s worth the money!
