We bought this life vest for my 10 month old daughter for boating. I read some reviews about people saying their child just did not like the thing on them. My daughter doesn’t mind it. It fits her just fine. All of the padding for floatation is in the front of the life vest and the back is nothing but nylon, so because of the bulk in the front my daughter cannot do anything with the life vest on her, which possibly when she gets better mobility this will change. I love the handle on the headrest, making it easy to pick her up out of the water. The colors are vibrant (I am sure over time the sun will get to them and fade, as the sun does most everything). There is a strap that goes in between the baby’s legs making it safe to lift them out of the water. The only thing I find a little difficult is carrying my baby when the life vest is on her. My daughter likes to be held on my hip with her front side facing me, and because of all of the padding being on the front side of her, it causes her to recline away from me, which means I have to be all the more careful she doesn’t fall back. The life vest itself is great though!

I bought this life vest for my 10 month old daughter (weighs about 20 pounds) after reading the reviews about its comfort. It did not disappoint! She’s an independent walker already, and when I first put it on her, she toppled over and giggled. (The fall protection is like a secret bonus feature!) But after standing her back up a couple of times, she got the hang of it and was running around just as much as usual. We got it for her to wear while boating, and with over an hour and a half on the water, she never complained. In fact, she was so happy, she was bouncing up and down and squealing, so it didn’t phase her at all! I can’t yet speak to the functionality within the water, but on comfort and wearability, it’s an A+.A couple of things to note: This is a Type II life vest, which means that it is designed to balance functionality and comfort. So it’s very bulky, but again, didn’t slow down our daughter. Also, my only complaint is that there’s not a better color selection. Only blue and pink are offered. We plan on having another child, so we tend to buy everything possible (except clothes) in gender-neutral colors. Given the two options, we chose blue for this (having a girl in blue seems less of an issue than potentially having a boy in pink), but a green would have been nice.

The life jacket is very nice. We have only used it once for our 6 month old. She hated it at first but her cheeks were being squeezed so I had to hold the top of the jacket open and she calmed down. She shortly fell asleep and then it was no longer an issue. I feel next summer it won’t matter so much she’ll be twice the size! The jacket seems safe. We didn’t use it in the water so I can’t verify if it would keep her face up. The tags stated that the jacket was coast guard approved however it was not the safest available. It was- I believe they called it -level 2 which was for safety and comfort. I knew we wouldn’t be using it much at her age and I’m very satisfied by what we chose for what we use it for. If you were planning on spending more time on the water you might prefer a safer jacket or if you have a higher quality boat you may prefer one that’s made more for comfort.

After a lot of research, Iβm very happy we decided to go with this product. We needed a life vest for the pontoon boat on the lake, and I was worried about fit and comfort, since our son was just about 11 weeks when we got this. It has all the safety features I was looking for. It also seemed like the most comfortable option, out of all the infant life vests I looked at. The baby didnβt love wearing it, but thatβs to be expected. He did settle in and I was able to get some smiles and laughs out of him, and he took a bottle and a nice, long nap while wearing it. In the picture, heβs 11 weeks old (but heβs long- 99th percentile!) and it was big, but the straps all tightened to keep everything safely in place. It did ride up and get close to his face, which he didnβt like, but the v-neck helped a lot with that (it definitely could have been much worse). He fussed here and there with it on, but heβs a baby and thatβs what they do! I would recommend this life vest to anyone!

I bought this when I had some friends with a young one coming and we were planning to go for a boat ride. He was about 15 months old — you never know how little ones will react when you strap them into something, especially a life jacket…. but must be comfortable, he slept the whole boat ride!My friends liked it enough where they asked if they could borrow it a couple times as well.Fortunately have not had to try out the actual safety features, but I am definitely happy with my purchase.

This item was purchased for a one year old birthday. I purchased it a month ago for his birthday but it was too tight around the neck and he screamed as we tried to get him to wear it. Being that it was purchased on May 12 and today is June 13th (one month and one day later) they would not return the item. Do not purchase this unless your know you can send it back right away.

A bit pricey but definitely worth it. Good material and works great. The neck support helped my daughter feel comfortable floating on her back.
