Purchased 3 different pullbuoys to see which would work best for my application and ended up keeping this one. Here’s why:1. They come in different shapes and sizes, and some that say they’re “Adult Size” aren’t, or at least don’t cover the gamut of body shapes and sizes for an adult. I’m 5’11” athletic build male for reference and found one of the three labeled adult just couldn’t keep my lower half up while attempting to float horizontal. While the second of three could it had another issue (on to next point)2. In my testing, you want asymmetrical shape, similar to a peanut, where one lobe is larger than the other. the second in my sample was symmetric and made it hard to keep it lodged between my legs while swimming. you do have to kick a little with these to keep your legs up, and having one side (the upside) slimmer help you to keep it in place when your thighs are slightly moving3. I don’t know if everyone realizes going into this purchase that when you start swimming your body creates drag and your legs get pulled down as you move forward–hence the need to kick even though you might have expected not to have to with this training tool. So while the float might feel like enough to keep your body horizontal while stationary, as soon as you start traveling across the pool, or in my case, against the current, the drag and downward pull on your legs will require you to kick while keeping the pullbuoy firmly lodged between your thighs. this take a bit of getting used to, and my suspicion is that the current i’m fighting in my endless pool magnifies this effect, hence the reason i included that in the title. go bigger than you think you might need is my takeaway if you, like me, will primarily be using these in an endless pool/swim spa.

It lifts my legs too high, very hard to keep my head up. Probably good for heavier people.

I prefer buoys that are a little longer & thicker than this one, but I’m adapting to it.

While waiting for my hip joint replacement, about the only thing I can do for aerobic exercise is swim. But I can’t use my legs – no Cartledge in my hip. So, I put the Speedo between my legs, swim with my arms and drag my legs. Works great!

I swam much faster with this, despite not being able to kick. Just floating my hips made a big difference.

My swim stroke coach recommended that I switch out my Pull Buoy for one that was not symmetrical (top and bottom) to gain efficiency. I purchased this Speedo version. LOVE it. I’m getting stronger and faster.

Recently took up sinning maps for exercise. This has helped with my kicking style and provides lift for my legs when my muscles are getting tired.

I like that it’s a little bigger than some of the others, so you done have to struggle to keep it between your legs! Makes me swim faster!
