I had a pair of these I have used to strap 2 windsurfers on my racks for 20 years and they still work perfectly. Recently i was looking for some additional straps. Every offering of other brands at the hardware and big box stores was super whimpy lightweight straps and mediocre buckles. I found the Dakines on Amazon and ordered another pair. OMG, the quality is even better than my first pair. Super heavy duty straps and beefy clamps. I would trust my life to these straps. Get a pair and lashing stuff on your car becomes so easy compared to ropes.TIPS:Tip 1) This tip is pretty basic but not so obvious when people first start using straps. When strapping onto car racks, hold onto the clamp end of strap and position it about 8β above near crossbar. Throw the lose end (no clamp!) over your gear, around crossbar on other side of car, and throw back over gear back to starting point, then around near crossbar, and back up to clamp. Thread lose end through clamp. Now you can use your weight to pull down on the lose end and tighten things. Secure witha few half hitches for insurance. This is much much easier than trying to tighten by pulling up on the lose end. Probably hard to understand what I am saying. Sorry.Tip 2- most people will try and get all the twists out of their straps. I argue that a few twists are better. Without any twist the straps are more prone to hum and vibrate in the wind like a reed in a clarinet. Vibrating straps will weaken and fray your straps over time. A twist prevents vibrating. These are great straps!

Easy to use and very sturdy. I use it to secure my 10ft fishing kayak on my crossbars and it stays. Lenght is perfect for what I need them.

I originally bought the Thule SUP taxi racks for my surfboard without realizing that they would be more suitable for SUP than a surfboard. The SUP racks did not hold down my surfboard at all (it was super sketch driving). After reading the great reviews on the Dakine pads I decided to give them a try and replace my SUP rack. The Dakine pads paired with these Dakine Tie Down Straps WORK AMAZING! The straps are durable and well made. I love how easy they fit into the clasp of the tie down and how tight you can secure them. My surfboard is now strapped down tightly and doesn’t budge at all. SO EASY to install and you really canβt beat the price!

These straps are easy to use for securing one or more surfboards to my existing vehicle roof racks. The cam is easy to operate, and has not slipped at all. The straps are lightweight, and easy to stow when not in use. I believe they’ll last a long time.

It’s a Dakine, what else needs to be said.

The straps are sturdy and the claps have a good strong bight. Would recommend.

These straps are perfect for securing surf boards, SUP’s etc on my roof rack. Straps are long enough to secure two full size SUPs without a problem.
