   I initially bought a KZ case for my IEMs for church. It was just a bit too small. It took secearl minutes to get the IEMs wrapped up just the right way and maneuvered into the case just so . . . so as to not pinch any of the wires or cram the lid down on my new IEMs. This Pelican 1010 case is just the right size for me to wrap up loosly the IEMs and cable, toss them in and close it. No issues because it’s a couple of inches bigger than the KZ case. Don’t get me wrong, the KZ case is great and very secure, but if your IEMs are full size (like most of the KZ, Shure, CCA etc. of similar or larger sizes are), then the smallish KZ case may be too small. This one is big enough so that I can loosely wrap up my IEMs after a gig, close it, and toss them in my backpack and be gone. The smaller KZ case required several minutes of wrapping just the right size, and carefully adjusting everything before I closed the case. The Pelican 1010 is big enough – but not too big – that you can just wrap, toss, and go. I also have enough room in the Pelican 1010 to keep a couple of extra collar clips and ear tips without any of it getting in the way. When you gig regularly, for church or elsewhere, you have to have extra tips, collar clips, and cinches just in case (WHEN!) something happens at the gig. This case is just the right size. And it has the carabiner to keep it attached to my backpack for gigs. Super solid and just the right size.I just wish I had known about the size issue before I bought the KZ case first.    The case is admittedly a little bulkier than I was expecting, but it was also more substantial. This thing looks TOUGH and the construction is top notch. So glad I went with this case as I’ll be using it to transport my Xvive wireless guitar system from gigs to home. I know my units will be safe with this thing!

   I just bought this, but I still have one that I’ve used for many years. I’m a sea kayaker. When we practice skills, my kayak spends a lot of time upside down in the water. I keep my phone and car keys in it. Salt water would quickly ruin a phone, but I have never had a drop of water get inside one of these cases.

   I carried a small camera inside this box during a ski trip to Vermont. The camera stayed 100% dry despite the outside of the box getting lots of wet and melted snow on the it. The interior dimensions are definitely what you need to watch when ordering the best size Pelican box for your needs, but Pelican boxes are the best in their class and I have never been disappointed by any Pelican product in the last 20-25 years of using them. If the box says it is waterproof, then it really is. And this one definitely is! And the weight it not heavy at all, so it is easy to stash in a large coat pocket and just carry it on hikes and put on skis like I did! Highly recommend this one!!
