I don’t use mine for surfing, I use it as a tether for my floating sand sifter when I metal detect in the water, just strap it to my ankle and it follows me.I also use it on the job, I work in an aerial lift up to 120 ft, I attach all my power tools to the basket with a tether to avoid dropping a power tool works great for that though I had to modify it a bit so it holds the tool more securely that with just velcro, which I am not convinced would stop the tool from falling [the velcro would fail with an 18v tool for sure without being modified. As it, it is much more versatile that the plain 9 wire we use.Of course this is not their fault as it was not designed for this application – Though if I were you guys, I would look into making a tool tether based 90% on this, you’d need some sort of slip knot one one end of very strong string with those locking plastic balls on them, maybe double for safety. The other velcro end is larger and actually is sufficient to hold it to the basket as is, but I don’t have 100& confidence in it. Velcro is nice for for something like this, a metal carbiner would be better., clip right on to the bucket, it would travel easily along the rail and be rock solid secureI’ll end up modding mine into just that, but if you made one I would or sure like to try it.

The pad underneath the ankle strap is way too short. I donβt have massive ankles and the padding doesnβt come close to fully wrapping around my ankle. This leaves a large portion of the strap in direct contact with your ankle/skin. Add a bit of beach sand to the nylon strap and suddenly youβve got a recipe for discomfort and abrasion.Simply adding four or five more inches of padding to fully wrap around the ankle underneath the strap would solve this issue for most people and would massively improve the user experience, quality and function. As is itβs a serviceable leash, good materials, functions as it should, but due to the limited padding, not the best. Dakine or NRS are far more comfortable. Their padding completely wraps the ankle.

Quality of materials and comfort are reasonably well made. Velcro interlocks at teather end.Only improvement could have been offering another 4-6 inches longer cord (rope) to tie off to the eyelet on the board to aid in an easier slip-on/off. Itβs space constrained with the supplied rope. Use your own piece instead.

Comfortable but as itβs brand new durability and quality of materials are unknowns. It appears to be extremely well made!

After burning through 3 other coiled leashes in three years from very well know brands I decided to try this one. The price was right, and so far the quality is great. Only time will tell, but it appears very well made, sturdy, and comfortable. By comparison, my last one, by a certain three letter company, broke when my 6 year old had it on his leg and walked away from the board onshore.

I didnβt want to spend the $50 for a Bote leash. When I found this one I ordered it. Very comfortable and well made looking forward to many trips on the lake.

Bought this in May 2021 for use with my paddleboard. Only used 3 times due to my preference for my non coiled leash. Stored outside but in shade. At first thought i had somehow accidently cut it but the material is seperating all along the leash. No longer usable. Website says one year warranty, amazon description says lifetime. Wouldn’t mind a replacement to give it another shot, maybe I got a defective one.

Got this thinking given its sturdy looking construction, it wouldn’t get tangled that easy. wrong. although the quality of the product is good, the leash got tangled during the very first session. This means it will go unused. It is also pretty heavy, heavier than any other leash i have owned. So big points for quality, but minuses for weight and tangle-proneness.
